Crime Scenes need to be documented in several different ways in order to demonstrate the condition of the scene at a specific time. Different ways to document may include photographs, diagrams, videos, note taking or a written narrative.
Fingerprints can be processed from a number of items. Different substrates require different processes or chemicals to make the latent prints visible. The prints should then be photographed and documented.
This item was processed with ninhydrin, a chemical which makes latent prints readily visible.
This print was one of many which were recovered after processing above communication.
Client wanted to know if a specific person had handled the laptop computer. Computer was processed for latent prints with positive results.

Because of the nature of the substrate and the latent print, the print was photographed using different lighting techniques to insure that the print was able to be identified.
